During the growing season, volunteers generally work Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (check the calendar for exceptions or changes).
Since 2015, the FMGG has partnered with DC-based human service organizations and parishes with food pantries to provide fresh, locally grown and healthy produce and herbs for families in need in the District of Columbia.
In 2015 alone, over 6,000 pounds of produce was donated to groups such as DC Central Kitchen, Martha’s Table and St. Anthony of Padua Parish, whose volunteers spent time helping in the garden, as well as the friars and local convents. The monastery was the only city “farm” and only non-profit to donate to DC Central Kitchen.
Our vegetable garden includes zucchini, squash, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumber, corn, peas, lettuce and much more.
