Please join us (by yourself or with friends, parish or nutrition non-profit) for drop-in gardening. Check the calendar for days and times, or email Lou Maroulis at gardenguild@gmail.com.
During the growing season, volunteers generally work Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Since 2015, the FMGG has partnered with DC-based human service organizations and parishes with food pantries to provide fresh, locally grown and healthy produce and herbs for families in need in the District of Columbia.
In 2017, 8,000 pounds of produce was donated to groups such as DC Central Kitchen, Martha’s Table and St. Anthony of Padua and Shrines of the Sacred Heart parishes, whose volunteers spent time helping in the garden. We also gave produce to the friars and local convents. And, our produce and jams won over two dozen ribbons at state fairs.
Our vegetable garden includes zucchini, squash, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumber, corn, peas, lettuce and much more.
