There is always something to do at the Franciscan Monastery. The garden guild worked on transplanting some beautiful blue Siberian Iris for the spring plant sale. The Iris came out of the front garden. We periodically thin the Iris to promote healthy new growth. Bob and Flynn worked hard transplanting and moving more than fifty pots. We have more than 11 different varieties of Iris that grow throughout the gardens. These are just a few of the many treasures that can be found at the Gardens of the Franciscan Monastery.
MissionOur purpose is to preserve and promote the gardens at the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land, and to support people in need in our community with produce grown in Fr. Francis’ garden, in keeping with the Franciscan tradition that God is revealed to us through his creations.
