The first-ever Garden Guild soap making workshop was a success. Despite dire weather predictions, 18 people participated – both Garden Guild and community members. The Franciscan Monastery Garden Guild is holding its first soap-making workshop on Saturday, Jan. 24, 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Guild volunteers will demonstrate hot process soap making and discuss soap making history and techniques. Join us on Dec. 24, 1:30 p.m. for the Blessing and Lighting of the Luminaria. In this Christmas Eve tradition at the Franciscan Monastery, the friars will pray over, then sprinkle the luminaria candles with holy water. Afterward, everyone present can help light the 1,000 candles! The candles will remain lit through New Year’s Eve as

The deadline for ordering a luminaria is Dec. 15! Use this form to be a part of the 15th annual “Seven Nights of Lights.” Orders are due by Dec. 15. The names of your loved ones will be attached to a luminaria and remembered in prayer. This is a wonderful gift and tradition for the family. Please
