Join us for “Seven Nights of Lights,” a Christmas Eve tradition in DC’s Brookland community. Over 1,000 candles will be blessed and lit outside the historic Franciscan Monastery church on Dec. 24, 1 p.m., and remain lit through New Year’s Eve.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
Dec. 19, 9 a.m.-noon: Help the Franciscan Monastery Garden Guild set up the luminaria – putting them in place and adding labels with the names of individuals for whom the candles are dedicated.
Dec. 24, 1 p.m.: Blessing and lighting of the luminaria (meet near the friary entrance)
Dec. 27, 1 p.m.: Outdoor Rosary for the Year of Mercy, Pope Francis and our loved ones
The Franciscan Monastery is located at 1400 Quincy St. NE, Washington, DC 20017 (free parking/Brookland-CUA Metro/H6 bus).
