Light a luminaria for Pope Francis! The light symbolizes a welcoming path into our hearts for the Holy Father as he starts his apostolic journey to the United States here in our community. Luminaria will be blessed and lighted during a vigil for the Pope’s arrival on Sept. 22, and will remain lit throughout his trip to the United States.
Come to the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land that day for “Welcome Pope Francis with the Friars,” a vigil of welcome for Pope Francis, with prayer, the lighting of the luminaria, watching his arrival in the US on television, an exhibit on Franciscan friar Junipero Serra (including a relic for veneration), and more.
