Preparing a Rose for Show

On Sunday, March 17, the Potomac Rose Society will present a program detailing the
procedures for preparing a rose for show or just to fully enjoy the beauty of the bloom.
This presentation will take place at the Franciscan Monastery at 2 pm and the public is
invited.

Mr. John Smith will show the attendees how to groom the bud to take full advantage of
its beauty and will be extremely helpful to those who want to compete in the various local
shows as well as those who want to display their cut roses to fullest advantage in their
homes.

Arrangements have been made to allow some of the attendees to try their hand at this
endeavor under the watchful eye of Mr. Smith. John’s credentials are outstanding. Not
only is he and his wife, extremely successful in rose competitions throughout the Mid-
Atlantic Region but he is a very successful rose hybridizer having introduce “Randy
Scott” and “Snuffy” both Hybrid Tea Roses that are racing to the top of the American
Rose Society’s leading roses.

This is a chance to learn from the “Best” — but space is limited and preregistration is
required. Please call Ben Hill @ 703-356-1019′
